Empowering Ourselves and Each Other: Skill-share to develop young people's empowerment in local and international civic process
Chisinau Region, Republic of Moldova
May 11 – 16, 2010
About a year ago the idea for a meeting in the Republic of Moldova developed out of a meeting that took place in Romania. Following a preparatory meeting which was attended by representatives of groups from Romania, the Netherlands, Ukraine and Moldova, a team from across Europe began preparations towards the practical and programme preparations, and the meeting finally come together.
This meeting was all about sharing our skills and experiences, so that we can work better in our small groups on the topics and issues that we care about. The main focus was skill-shares on topics such as participatory decision-making processes, building the tools for working in independent groups, organizing actions and action campaigns, as well as information and discussion sessions on anti-racism, the economic crisis, the workers' struggle in Moldova, gender and male privilege and many others.
We were very happy with the meeting and hope for great outcomes out of the information exchanged, the new skills that were learned and the networking done. This wouldn't've been possible without all the input from coordinators, trainers and participants. Thank you all for coming!
Thank you as well to the funders who made this project possible: European Youth Foundation, Alert Youth Funds and Haella Foundation
