Women with tools - The Collective Memory
Empowering women through art and technology
From March 5th till 9th 2008, EYFA together with cultural association KUD Mreža organized a meeting which took place on different locations in Autonomous Cultural Center Metelkova mesto and in the social center of factory Rog in Ljubljana. Women with tools supported art and activism that breaks up expectations, habits, ideas and roles that shove us into one gender or the other.
Through various workshops and lectures Women with tools provided the framework for women to questioned the “normality” of gender inequality, expected gender roles, standards of beauty and heteronormative "destiny" and to spoke about absence, exclusion, invisibility, denial and disciplining of bodies, genders and sexualities which “do not fit” into the common sense “normality”.
