As GMO crops are popping up in farming communities in The Netherlands so are activists!
On Saturday June 24th about 50+ anti-GMO and environmental activists (including people from the EYFA network) walked through the countryside in the south-west of the Netherlands spreading information about the dangers of GMO crops. The Rythms of Resistance samba band of Amsterdam and a troop of rebel clowns from Belgium and The Netherlands were along for the walk. The group started in the town of Made and walked to the neighbouring town of Hooge Zwaluwe (in the municipality of Drimmelen), stopping in the town centres and at farms to warn the local people about the possible threats of the nearby field growing genetically modified Bt-Maize.
