Still places for participants...
IFS Europe conference November 19th – 26th
Through the IFS (International Federation of Settlements and
Neighbourhood Centres) a week-long conference will take place in
Edinburgh, UK from November 19-26. There are still spaces for participants!!
The week hopes to focus on skill share and youth political and creative
engagement. There will be 2 sessions of workshops, the morning session
will be ongoing for the week and focus on the organisation of an event
at the end, which will probably take the form of a party with speakers
and performance from the youth groups. The afternoons will have sessions
of one off workshops, ranging from fundraising, GLBT issues, lobbying,
youth 'activism' etc.
There will be one day dedicated to youth politics. For this day we hope
to have a combination of politicians and more grass roots political
activists to lead workshops in different methods of getting your voice
heard in the political spectrum and enacting political change. Following
this there will be a debate and Q+A session with the various
participants and workshop leaders.
Half the travel costs of participants will be paid.
You pay a participation fee based on your country of origin (but if you
have trouble with this assistance may be possible). If you wish to come
