The situation in Mayo, Ireland is continuing to be tense as Shell and the Irish government refuse proposals made by opposers of the construction of a Corrib gas pipeline. Shell to Sea calls in the last bulletin for "you to work like never before to intensify the campaign. What you can best offer is up to you and your resources but please, whatever you do, do something! ...We call on you to extend your solidarity during these difficult times and to join us in our peaceful celebration of community resistance."

Volunteer needed for Novi Sad, Serbia
EYFA is looking for a volunteer for a project in Novi Sad, Serbia starting around June 2007 for a period of 6 months. The project is making use of the European Commission's European Voluntary Service program or EVS. The volunteer has to be Dutch and under 26. Her/his travel expenses will be paid for and there is a monthly allowance as well as money for basic needs. EYFA will function as a sending organisation and AAC Kulturanova will be the host organisation.

Animals Rights Action in Lithuania
Peta bear followed the Queen through her visit in The Baltics
On 16 – 19 of October the queen of the United Kingdom visited three Baltic states (Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia). During her visit, the monarch, besides various other events, had meetings in public with local people. During her visit Peta (People for Ethical Treatment with Animals) together with local animal rights activists, made actions in public. The actions were intended to encourage UK’s Ministry of Defense to stop the usage of black bears’ fur for making the hats for the queen’s household guards.
