2023

Our 2023 work plan focused on the inclusion of marginalised youth and young BIPoC asylum seekers and refugees, and on their empowerment through self expression, learning
tools of communication and documentation, thus strengthening the refugee solidarity movements and networks .

This year’s work-plan also worked towards ensuring that climate justice is accessible for all, actively engaging marginalised youth in participatory processes in order to achieve capacity building and raise awareness on the urgency for climate action and to foster environmental discourse from the grass-roots. We continued working towards ensuring the inclusion of marginalised youth while implementing an intersectional approach that connects marginalised youth affected by discrimination, empowering them to express themselves, thus promoting civic engagement and cross regional cooperation.

Our local workshops & trainings addressed the topics of discrimination within environmental justice movements, racism, migration, refugee solidarity, colonialism, climate injustice, land struggle, food sovereignty, queerness, among others. Our program also encouraged reflection and responsibility from those in positions of power and influence and empowered young people with fewer opportunities to develop movements that are safer, more sustainable and that best serve them and their communities.

The highlights of the 2023 were the two 1 week-long international activities Youth Organisations Decolonizing Activism and Freedom of Movement – Youth uniting against Borders.

This year we also implemented a series of local activities in the form of workshops, skill share / informational meetings and hangouts. These tackled topics such as the transformation and democratisation of the police institution, anti-racism, decolonisation, awareness, empowerment and liberation. In average over 300 young activists benefited directly and indirectly from our local projects and we received great feedback from the attendees, which opened the possibilities for new collaborations and we are very satisfied with the project results.
