Winter march/hike to Davos, Switzerland in January 2020

For the 50th time, representatives from politics, business, science and the
media will meet at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland in January 2020 and claim to improve the world.

However, the climate catastrophe is largely caused by the 1,000 largest
companies around the world who are members of the WEF. Those who travel to Davos in limousines or helicopters have failed. But we are serious about the demand for climate justice, which is why we will put on our hiking boots and walk to Davos.

The environmental movement has gained breadth and strength through the climate strikes. As part of the “by 2020 we rise up” campaign, the year 2020 is to be used to bring about urgently needed changes so that future generations of humans and animals can find a planet worth inhabiting. The winter hike is part of the international climate movement.

Plant Awareness to Grow Solidarity! ESC Volunteer Programme 2019/2020

Plant awareness to grow solidarity! That’s the theme of our volunteers’ new project this year. Three young people from Ukraine and Belarus will be hosted at our organisation and offer their insights and curiosity by hosting several thought provoking evenings over the course of the next 10 months.

This year’s project aims to strengthen young people’s engagement as promoters of intercultural dialogue and social inclusion across Europe. In times where rising financial uncertainties and undercurrents of right-wing extremism causing waves of anti-migrant violence and loom over a potentially vibrant community of European youth, we want to explore and debate innovative solutions to ensuring the active participation of underprivileged groups in civil society. We want to take this opportunity to share what we can all around and about social justice and inclusion, solidarity, anti-racist and anti-oppression community-based education work. Join us!

We’re excited to go and connect to all the great activists from different parts of Europe and to learn about your struggles!
